HUNTING FOR HEROES
Hunting for Heroes (H4) is a 501c3 nonprofit charity organization that provides recreational therapy and counseling services to disabled law enforcement officers disabled or injured in the line of duty.
H4H provides an all-expenses paid wellness retreat to the hero, their spouse and their children. Due to the life-changing impact these injuries have on the hero and their entire family, the organization has designed programs to provide support to the family unit as a whole.
The FBI reports that the number of Law Enforcement Officers that die by suicide is twice as high compared to those killed in the line of duty. Many law enforcement personnel have told Hunting For Heroes that they have contemplated suicide because of a sense of social isolation, financial strain, loss of career, loss of relationships with other officers, and loss of family relationships.
“Those same heroes tell us that our organization gave them hope and a reason to keep working down the never-ending road of recovery. Together we will save lives by pulling these heroes out of the depths of depression; learning to live a “new normal”.
– Christopher Allen, M.S. President & Executive Director Hunting for Heroes
With support from the community, Hunting for Heroes will continue to touch the hearts of heroes and their families across the nation. The organization’s programs focus on suicide prevention awareness, PTSD help, and peer-to-peer counseling.
