SOUTHERN UTAH AUTISM SUPPORT GROUP
Southern Utah Autism Support Group is a parent and professional volunteer led company that provides support and resources for families with relatives with spectrum disorders and related conditions such as, Fragile X Syndrome, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Genetic Disorders, etc. The company’s Board of Directors consists of individuals on the Autism Spectrum and professionals with experience in providing services to families of individuals with Autism and related conditions.
In the summer of 2015 the Southern Utah Autism Support Group (SUASG) launched Project Lifesaver. Similar to wandering behaviors in seniors with Alzheimer’s or dementia, children with Autism are prone to wander away from a safe environment. Unfortunately, many cases end in tragedy.
In partnership with the Washington County Sheriffs Department, St. George, Hurricane City and Washington City Police Departments, SUASG
launched Project Lifesaver, in an effort to protect individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Project Lifesaver provides radio transmitters or tracking devices for individuals who wander or elope. This project provides much relief to families giving them peace of mind knowing that their loved ones will always be found. Watch this video to learn more about Project Lifesaver. $300.00 will provide one transmitter for an individual on the spectrum.
