ZUMBA FOR AUTISM
On Saturday April 18th, New York based Zumba instructors are offering their services to raise funds and awareness for the NYC Autism Charter School (NYCACS). Inspired by a friend with an Autistic son, Marsha Garcia, MJ Rock Fitness Director and leader of Marsha’s Zumba Team, created the Zumba for Autism initiative earlier this year. Garcia and a host of other New York based Zumba instructors are on a mission to raise $1500.00 for the NYC Autism Charter School.
NYC Autism Charter School (NYCACS) has been creating possibilities for the Autism community for ten years. Based in East Harlem, it is the first and only public charter school in New York devoted solely to educating children with Autism.
“One of my closest friends has a son who attends NYC Autism Charter School. I know first hand, what a difference this school has made in his life and her family’s life. In addition, the school helps hundreds of other children with autism through their outreach program. This is why I am so passionate about this organization“. – Marsha Garcia
